Summary
Key areas of responsibilities Specialities on Hammersmith site: renal (incl transplantation), urology, gynaecology incl pelvic oncology, endocrine, hepatobillary, upper GI & cardiothoracics. General responsibilities Theatre list allocations change weekly - this allows the post holder to experience all anaesthetic subspecialties at Hammersmith under direct consultant supervision. General anaesthetic duties include pre-op assessment, intra-operative care and postoperative mgmt of theatre cases. When oncall will cover cardiac arrests & acute pain service. It is a guide to assist the employee to perform their job Outline of timetable Rotas: The dept currently operates a full shift rota compliant with New Deal, EWTD and 2016 junior doctor contract. 1:8 rolling rota (48 hours/week) Hammersmith Hospital Normal theatre working day 07:30 17:30 Long Day 07.30 20:00 (1:8) Night shift 19.30 08:00 (1:8) Teaching: Is weekly in the anaesthetic dept & via MS Teams - it is consultant & trainee-delivered & consultant-supervised. Clinical Governance The Trust adheres to a strict clinical governance programme supported by Dr F Plaat representing anaesthesia at Hammersmith Hospital. Audit There is a rolling programme of audit mtgs, the post holder is expected to participate in the clinical audit programme. Education The department will provide appropriate non-clinical training opportunities
