Summary

Job Description

GEM are working with a global automotive organisation to recruit a number of Fork Lift Drivers for their facility in Newton Aycliffe. Duties

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move goods safely
• Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and storage areas
• Transport goods to designated storage locations within a warehouse or site
• Stack and organize products in racks, shelves, or pallets
• Inspect forklift equipment daily to ensure it is safe and operational
• Follow workplace safety rules and procedures
• Keep accurate records of inventory movements and deliveries
• Assist with general warehouse duties such as packing, labelling, and stock checks
• Report damaged goods, safety hazards, or equipment issues to supervisors

Experience and knowledge

• Valid forklift operator certification/licence
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
• Basic numeracy and record-keeping skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
• Physical fitness and attention to safety

Additional Information

Location: Newton Aycliffe

Hours of work: Monday to Friday
• Days - 7am-3pm
• Backs – 3pm-11pm
• Nights - 11pm-7am

Rates of pay:
• Days - £13.21 per hour
• Backs - £15.85 per hour
• NIghts - £17.71 per hour
