Our client is a well-established business specialising in precision engineering, delivering high-quality, low-volume components to a range of industries. With a strong reputation for reliability, quality and service excellence, they pride themselves on building long-term partnerships with their customers.

They are currently seeking an experienced and commercially focused Account Manager to join their growing team. This is a key role responsible for managing and developing strategic customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery and building long-term partnerships.

Acting as the primary point of contact, you will work closely with internal teams including engineering, operations, production and quality to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and consistently delivered within a precision engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop key customer accounts, acting as the main point of contact
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Understand customer needs and ensure expectations are consistently met or exceeded
• Lead regular customer review meetings covering performance, delivery and future opportunities
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order progression and delivery
• Monitor order status, production schedules and delivery timelines
• Communicate proactively with customers regarding updates, risks or delays
• Support contract reviews and ensure requirements are clearly communicated internally
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue within existing accounts
• Resolve customer queries and issues professionally, ensuring positive outcomes
• Maintain accurate account records, forecasts and commercial data
• Produce account performance reports and provide insights to stakeholders
• Represent the business during customer meetings, visits and audits
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across customer service and delivery


About You

We're looking for someone who is commercially aware, highly organised and confident dealing with both customers and internal teams.

• Proven experience in an Account Manager or customer-facing role
• Experience managing key or strategic customer accounts
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills
• Experience working cross-functionally with operations, engineering or supply chain teams
• High level of IT literacy, including Excel and CRM/ERP systems
• Experience within a precision engineering, manufacturing or machining environment
• Understanding of production planning and order management processes
• Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
