This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a stable Electrician role in Social Housing, with great benefits, long-term career development and meaningful work that improves lives every day.About the RoleAs a Multi Skilled Electrician at Progress Housing Group, known internally as a Lead Electrician, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving our homes, ensuring they are safe, compliant and comfortable for our tenants.You’ll primarily deliver reactive electrical repairs and maintenance, working across occupied and void domestic properties within our housing stock. On occasion, you may also carry out basic making-good works (such as minor joinery or plumbing etc) to reinstate access points or finishes following electrical work.Your work will have a direct impact on tenant safety, wellbeing and satisfaction, making this a genuinely rewarding role.Key ResponsibilitiesCarrying out electrical repairs, maintenance and installations across domestic propertiesDiagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently and to a high standardUndertaking periodic inspection and testing in line with current regulations (depending on experience)Ensuring all work complies with BS7671 and electrical safety legislationWorking professionally and respectfully within occupied homesSupporting void property turnaround to help homes be re-let quicklyUsing mobile job management systems to update works in real timeTaking part in the on-call rota (currently 1 in every 20 weeks) to respond to emergency repairsWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for a qualified, customer-focused Electrician who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of delivering a great service in people’s homes.Essential RequirementsNVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & TestingProven experience in domestic electrical workStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsAbility to work independently and manage your own workloadExperience working in tenanted and void propertiesConfident using handheld devices or mobile job management systemsExcellent communication skills and a respectful, tenant-focused approachFull UK driving licenceWillingness to participate in the on-call rotaDesirable (but not essential)Previous experience in social housing or local authority environmentsWhat We OfferWe believe that when our people feel supported, valued and developed, they do their best work.
