Summary

As a Deputy Manager in our Children's Residential Home, you will lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers to ensure the delivery of high-quality care that meets the individual needs of each child. You will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, promoting the physical and emotional well-being of the children in our care. Your role includes overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:
● Lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff, ensuring professional development
through induction, training and supervision.
● Promote a culture of trauma-informed and person-centred care.
● Providing strong leadership for your team of dedicated staff, inspiring them to deliver exceptional care, and creating a positive and inclusive working environment.
● Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
● Facilitate team meetings, promoting open communication and reflective practice.

Compliance:
● Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the service meets all regulatory and
legislative requirements, adhering to relevant standards and guidelines, and
maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety including meeting the company’s
core values.
● Support the Registered Manager to prepare for and lead the service through the Ofsted inspection process, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Care Planning:
● Overseeing the development and implementation of personalised care plans, tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each service user.
● To ensure that the rights are upheld of all the children within the home.
● Ensure that care practices align with current legislation, best practice guidelines, and the home's policies and procedures.
● Promote a child-centered approach, encouraging children to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
● Implement and maintain robust safeguarding policies to protect service users from
harm, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly.
● Promote the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of service users
through trauma-informed approaches.

Safeguarding:
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the
safety and well-being of all children.
● Report and document any concerns, incidents, or allegations in accordance with
statutory and organisational protocols.
● Ensure the home operates in compliance with Ofsted regulations and other relevant
legislation.

Risk Management:
● Proactively identifying potential risks, implementing risk management strategies, and
maintaining a safe and secure environment for both service users and staff.
● Promote a culture of health and safety, ensuring that all practices comply with
relevant regulations and policies.
● Conduct regular risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to mitigate
identified risks.
● Ensure that the physical environment of the home is safe, welcoming, and
well-maintained.
