The Role

As an Electrical Engineer Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified electricians while learning the technical and practical skills required to become a fully trained engineer.

You’ll gain experience across a variety of electrical projects including installations, testing, and maintenance work within domestic properties and public sector housing.

Your time will be split between college-based learning and on-the-job training, ensuring you gain both practical experience and recognised qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

During your apprenticeship you will develop skills including:

• Electrical installations and wiring
• Inspection and testing of electrical systems
• Fault finding and maintenance
• Health & safety and electrical compliance
• Customer service and working within occupied homes
• Working with renewable technologies and modern electrical systems

You will be mentored by experienced Saltire engineers and supported throughout your training.

You should:

• Be motivated to learn and develop new skills
• Enjoy practical, hands-on work
• Be able to work well as part of a team
• Demonstrate strong communication skills
• Be organised and willing to take responsibility for your work

Academic Requirements

• Minimum of 3 National 5s (or equivalent) – preferably including Maths, English and Science.
