Are you an experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic TA to join a secondary school in Blackpool, providing dedicated support across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
About the Role
In this full-time position, you will work closely with pupils who require additional help to access learning, including those with SEND, SEMH needs, and behavioural challenges. You will support both in the classroom and on a 1:1 or small-group basis, helping learners engage, progress, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to pupils across KS3 and KS4 with a range of additional needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering structured and engaging lessons
- Implement behaviour management strategies confidently and effectively
- Support pupils' emotional and social development
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to student progress and well-being through regular feedback and communication with staff
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach
- Experience supporting students with SEND or additional needs
