We are working with a specialist SEMH school in Derbyshire (DE56) seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school supports pupils aged 5-16 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing personalised education and pastoral support to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a positive, resilient individual to play a key role in supporting young people with additional needs, helping them to engage with education, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated lessons alongside the class teacher
- Implement behaviour strategies and support a structured environment with high expectations
- Help pupils regulate emotions, develop social skills, and engage positively in learning
- Support personalised learning pathways and access to appropriate accreditation
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

What We're Looking For
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs (school, AP, PRU, or similar)
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to adapt to challenging situations and remain consistent
- A proactive team player who can work collaboratively with staff and support services
