As an Allocations Officer your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Advertise, shortlist and allocate Mid Devon Housing properties in accordance with the Devon Home Choice scheme.
• Conduct viewings and pre vacate inspections in our properties across the Mid Devon area.
• Work with prospective tenants to ensure that they are able to sustain their new tenancies. undertaking affordability assessments and signposting or making referrals to other agencies as needed.
• Carry out sign up appointments with new tenants ensuring they understand the tenancy conditions and organising handover of the keys.
• To undertake various administrative tasks in relation to the allocations process ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
• Process mutual exchange applications in accordance with relevant legislation to support our tenants wishing to transfer to an alternative property.

About you:

• Excellent communication and mediation skills are essential
• An ability to solve problems is also important
• You must be able to organise your own workload
• You need experience in housing management and/or a customer focussed service
• You must have an understanding of landlord and tenant obligations
• You will have a clear customer focus and a flexible approach
• You will have good people skills with a passion for making a difference
