What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you an inspiring, motivated and forward‑thinking Religious Education specialist ready to lead a department with huge potential? This is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact in a thriving, inclusive and community‑centred 11–18 school.

We are searching for an exceptional educator who is passionate about Religious Education and has the drive to elevate the subject across all key stages. You will be:

• A qualified Religious Education teacher with a strong track record of successful outcomes.
• Able to provide Religious Education in accordance with Christian tenets, when required
• An inspiring classroom practitioner, able to motivate students of all abilities and deliver engaging, challenging lessons.
• A strategic thinker with vision—ready to develop and grow the subject, raise standards, and expand exam uptake.
• A confident leader, capable of supporting, challenging and developing staff within the department.
• Experienced in KS3 and KS4, with experience at KS5 being desirable.
• Committed to safeguarding and wellbeing, modelling resilience, self-awareness and professional integrity.
• Eager to contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment, clubs, and trips.
• Enthusiastic, hardworking, reflective—and ready to make a real difference to young people.

If you have previous leadership experience, fantastic. If not, but you have clear potential and ambition, we will support you to grow.

What the school offers its staff

At De Aston School, you will join a warm, supportive and vibrant community with a strong sense of purpose. We offer:

• A welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where staff genuinely feel valued.
• A committed and successful team with a strong collaborative ethos.
• Excellent CPD and leadership development, underpinned by evidence‑informed practice.
• A flexible and healthy work/life balance.
• A school praised by Ofsted for its positive culture:
• “Leaders are considerate and supportive of staff workload and wellbeing.”
• “Staff say they feel valued… the school is ‘one big family’.”

• A comprehensive setting with strong academic and pastoral records.
• The opportunity to influence and develop RE across the whole school, including growing exam pathways.
• A beautiful rural location on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, with excellent value for housing and easy access to the historic city of Lincoln.

This is a fantastic chance for someone who wants to lead, innovate and build a thriving department in a school that invests heavily in its staff.
