Summary

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the post holder include delivering high-quality ICT, Digital, and Functional Skills Maths lessons, supporting learners effectively, and assessing their work in line with City College Stratford’s policies and awarding body requirements.
Duties may be amended at short notice to respond to the evolving needs of the College. The responsibilities outlined below are indicative and not exhaustive.

Teaching and Learning
• Deliver ICT and Digital Functional Skills programmes from Entry Level 1 to Level 2 for young people and adult learners.
• Deliver Functional Skills Maths from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
• Teach digital literacy, online safety, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, and internet research skills in line with curriculum standards.
• Teach Maths topics including number, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, measurement, geometry, data handling, and problem-solving in real-life contexts.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive Schemes of Work (SoW) aligned to awarding body specifications for ICT, Digital, and Maths.
• Develop and maintain Student Profiles and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet awarding body and partner organisation requirements.
• Support learners with additional needs and those with limited prior digital or mathematical knowledge.
• Promote safe, responsible, and professional use of technology in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.

Assessment and Feedback
• Design and prepare assessment materials suitable for different learner levels and qualification requirements in ICT, Digital, and Maths.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments in accordance with awarding body regulations.
• Provide ongoing verbal feedback during lessons.
• Provide written summative feedback within one week of assessment/examination dates.
• Assess, record, and monitor learner progress accurately and consistently using tracking systems.
• Maintain and update learner portfolios, including assessed work, ILPs, progress reviews, and mid-term reviews.
• Carry out examination assessment, monitoring, and evaluation following awarding body requirements.
• Submit weekly learner progress reports to the IQA and Head of Centre.

Administration and Compliance
• Undertake administrative tasks related to admissions, induction programmes, and Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services.
• Supervise assigned learners or groups of learners during ICT and Maths sessions.
• Ensure the learning environment is safe, organised, and compliant with Health and Safety regulations.
• Participate in internal meetings, including:
o Quality meetings
o Health and Safety meetings
o IAG meetings
o Standardisation meetings
• Participate in relevant committees as required.
• Manage and coordinate programmes as directed by the Head of Centre and/or Quality Manager.
• Undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in ICT, digital technologies, Maths, and teaching practice.

Attendance Monitoring and Reporting
• Notify the administration team immediately after a session if a learner is absent.
• Report to College Management, in collaboration with administration, if a learner fails to attend three consecutive lessons.
Requirements:
• Minimum Teaching Qualifications (Level 3 Award in Education and Training (minimum) Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training {Desired})
• Prior ICT, Digital & Functional Skills Maths teaching experience (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
• Minimum Master’s degree in Related background or any relevant field
• Strong organisational skills to manage planning, overseeing, and supporting learners and other staffs
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
• Experience in creating and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
