Summary

Job Description Job Summary Bharani Medical Centre is seeking a Salaried GP to join our established and well-supported practice in Slough. The practice provides primary care services to approximately 18,000 patients across three nearby sites. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a structured clinical model. This role requires a minimum commitment of 6 sessions per week. The practice operates a telephone-first consultation model, allowing clinicians to clinically triage their own lists and arrange face-to-face consultations where appropriate. We utilise digital tools including EMIS and Dictate.IT to support efficient documentation and reduce administrative workload. Sessions may be delivered across our nearby sites, with fixed working days agreed in advance to ensure a predictable working pattern. Main Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities The post-holder will provide comprehensive general medical services to registered patients including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Typical duties include: Providing high-quality primary care consultations including telephone and face-to-face appointments where clinically appropriate. . Undertaking home visits where clinically required. Reviewing and actioning pathology results, hospital correspondence and clinical documents. Prescribing safely and cost-effectively in accordance with national and local guidance. Maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS and associated digital systems. Managing routine clinical administration associated with patient care. The practice operates a majority telephone-first consultation model, with clinicians triaging their own patient lists and arranging face-to-face appointments when clinically indicated. Direct booking of face-to-face consultations is limited. There is no traditional duty doctor system. During peak periods there may occasionally be 12 additional urgent cases, supported by the wider clinical team. Prescribing and Medicines Management The post-holder will: Prescribe safely in line with clinical guidelines and best practice. Contribute to medicines optimisation and repeat prescribing reviews. Work collaboratively with the practice pharmacy team to support medication reviews and patient education. Quality, Governance and Patient Safety The post-holder will: Adhere to clinical governance processes and professional standards. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activities and significant event reviews. Support the practice in achieving QOF and other contractual requirements. Contribute to safeguarding responsibilities relating to children and vulnerable adults. Education and Professional Development The post-holder will: Participate in the practices protected learning time sessions. Access one half-day per month of CPD through the STEPS programme, supported by the local ICB. Maintain professional development through appraisal and revalidation. Support teaching or supervision of learners such as pharmacists or students where appropriate. Team Working and Collaboration The post-holder will work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team including: GP partners and salaried GPs Advanced nurse practitioners Clinical pharmacists First-contact physiotherapists Administrative and reception staff The role includes participating in practice meetings and contributing to service development where appropriate.
