A day in the life of a Murphy Site Engineer:
- Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan
- Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records
- Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures
- Makes sure that only competent personnel are used to carry out the Works. Policies the outputs to confirm that the required level of quality is maintained.
- Co-ordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works.
- Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship.
- Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
- Minimises environmental disturbance during construction works.
- Supervises the outputs and confirms that the project environmental requirements are met.
- Close liaison with the Site Foreman and Package Managers.
- Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used.
- Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer’s recommendations current working practice, contract specification or project requirements.
- Assist the Site Management team to update KPI’s, material reconciliation and progress reports
- Maintain a working knowledge of all subcontractors’ scopes of works within area of responsibility. Identify and record any changes to scope, including delays. Provide appropriate records to line management and commercial teams.
- Assist in monitoring site productivity and reporting progress to site team
- Monitoring programme progress and identifying potential issues, providing timely resolutions where required
- Conduct surveys and inspections to verify compliance with design specifications
- Within area of responsibility, ensure that all permits, inductions, task briefs and other documentation required to undertake works in accordance with legal, company and project requirements are in place, approved and briefed to all required persons, including subcontractors, prior to work commencing
- Produce any required Non-Conformance Reports, including details of proposed remedial works, for approval by others. Ensure agreed works are completed and appropriate records are provided to allow close out by others.
- Ensure that approved temporary works solutions are in place and used as required during all works within the area of responsibility. Contribute to the development of temporary works solutions.
- Ensure all required documented outputs and records are correctly uploaded to the project document control systems
- Maintain appropriate and accurate records of works progress, changes, resources and issues, including works by subcontractors

- HNC/HND/degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline
