Summary

All about the Role

This specialist role places you right at the forefront of homelessness prevention — supporting households at the earliest signs of crisis and stepping in with expert guidance when it matters most. You'll be working at the cutting edge of housing services, helping people navigate difficult situations in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

As a key member of our team, you will use your knowledge of tenancy law, rent arrears, eviction procedures, and the private rented sector to provide proactive, practical solutions that keep people safely housed. Your expertise will support both tenants and landlords, with a strong focus on preventing and relieving homelessness before it escalates.

You will offer clear, accurate, and hands‑on advice to private landlords on everything from tenancy agreements and rent collection to eviction processes, property standards, and resolving disputes — helping to maintain stable and sustainable housing options across the city.

All about our Team

The Landlord Advice and Good Practice Officer will join our Housing Advice and Outreach Team — a dynamic, fast‑paced service

We work proactively across the city, combining community‑based outreach with office‑based work to ensure residents receive the right help at the right time. Our team is committed, collaborative work with partner agencies and driven by a shared purpose: preventing homelessness and supporting households to achieve safe, secure, and sustainable housing.

All about You

You will be a confident, solutions‑focused professional with a strong understanding of the private rented sector and a genuine passion for preventing homelessness. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, can balance community‑based work with office responsibilities, and are comfortable managing a busy and varied caseload.
