Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing on Respiratory and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) products to ensure compliance with EN standards and support product development.
  • Perform development, qualification, pre compliance, and audit testing to maintain and advance certifications for respiratory protection products.
  • Interpret and apply test methods, updating documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with external test laboratories to develop and refine procedures and test methods, driving continuous improvement.
  • Assist with scheduled calibration of test equipment and support internal safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Manage test equipment consumables to ensure availability and readiness.
  • Work closely with R&D teams including product engineers, developers, and certification/compliance specialists to support successful product development.
  • Contribute to maintaining the Quality Management System to uphold laboratory accreditation and product certifications.
  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams proficiently for reporting and communication.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Understanding of respiratory protection and SCBA products, including performance, testing, and release criteria.
  • Knowledge of respiratory protection testing requirements and EN standards for Respiratory and SCBA testing.
  • Awareness of gas and vapour testing methods.
  • Familiarity with reusable respirators, powered and supplied air systems, and SCBA products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse technical data.
  • Proficient in Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.
Education
  • HNC, HND, or Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Degree-level education or higher preferred.

37 hour working week Monday - Friday.
