The Headteacher and Governors of Pentrebane Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and reflective teaching assistant to join our expanding Special Resource Base which supports children for whom communication and interaction is their primary need. This is an excellent opportunity for a teaching assistant with an interest in additional needs to work as part of a dedicated team. Pentrebane is a small Primary school with approximately 200 pupils, 30 of whom are in the Special Resource Base.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with pupils with ASD in a primary setting, have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to establish effective working relationships with children, staff, parents and other professionals. Good standards of literacy and numeracy and understanding of child development are also essential.
