We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Careers Advisor to support students in planning and progressing onto meaningful post-16 and post-18 pathways, including further education, apprenticeships and employment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all students receive high-quality, impartial careers guidance that enables them to make informed decisions about their future.

You will provide one-to-one guidance, organise careers events and employer engagement opportunities, and support students with applications, interviews and transition planning, as well as work experience.
The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking, community-focused school within the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership – a successful and growing Trust committed to investing in its staff and facilities. Based in the heart of Somerset, the successful applicant will benefit from beautiful surroundings, a strong commitment to continued professional development and join a welcoming and supportive staff community.
What We Are Looking For:
A Level 6 qualified Careers Advisor with experience providing careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) to young people
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and external partners
Knowledge of post-16 and post-18 pathways including further education, apprenticeships, training and employment routes
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage guidance appointments, events and records effectively
An understanding of Gatsby Benchmarks and careers programme delivery in schools
A student-centred approach with a passion for helping young people achieve their ambitions
What We Offer:
A well-resourced and well-maintained school site with a clear premises improvement plan
A strong and supportive staff team who are committed to student success
Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training through the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership
A commitment to staff wellbeing, with manageable workloads and a positive working environment
Access to a Cycle to Work scheme, employee benefits platform and free eye tests
The chance to make a real impact on the daily experience of students and staff
