The Role

We are currently seeking a Venue Supervisor to join our team at Maison Dieu, Dover Town Hall to help grow the business and support the operational team with the day to day operations. Maison Dieu re-opened in May 2025 and is a popular visitor community and event space in the heart of Dover.

You will oversee daily operations and events during assigned shifts, ensuring that service standards, safety procedures, and company policies are consistently maintained. You will act as the primary point of contact for all visitors and staff, resolving issues promptly and supporting the smooth running of the business. It is a requirement of the post to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.




Responsibilities

Inspire the team to deliver exceptional service to all clients and guests.
Provide clear direction, guidance, and feedback to staff during shifts.
Manage last‑minute absences and adjust staffing levels or priorities as required.
Train, coach, and support new employees as directed by the Operations Manager.
Work collaboratively with the Management Team and colleagues across all departments.
Work across other Dover District Council (DDC) sites when required.
Attend staff training and work towards agreed outcomes, targets, and development goals.
Provide a consistently high standard of customer service with a calm, presentable, and charismatic approach.
Ensure all customers feel welcomed and enjoy their experience at the venues.
Act as the senior point of contact for customer enquiries, complaints, and escalations.
Resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
Support the Operations Manager, Sales and Event Coordinator and Engagement Officers and other Managers as required
To oversee and manage the smooth running of all events as required.
Support and cover as required front‑line teams in delivering excellent service.
Supervise day‑to‑day operations across all departments during assigned shifts.
Ensure company policies, procedures, and service standards are followed.
Monitor workflow and adjust priorities or staffing as needed.
Ensure all revenue is recorded and processed in line with Council policies.
Work within set budgets in accordance with Dover District Council’s Financial Regulations.
Assist with operational planning and communication across teams.
Ensure agreed standards of cleanliness and hygiene are implemented, including Environmental Health requirements.
Ensure operational procedures and safety standards are consistently implemented and updated.
Comply with and support the Council’s Equality, Diversity, and Health & Safety policies.
Respond to incidents or emergencies and complete required reports.
Maintain accurate shift records, logs, and administrative documentation.
Support the implementation of hygiene, allergen, and environmental health practices.
Show honesty, reliability, enthusiasm, and strong timekeeping.
Maintain a calm and professional attitude, even under pressure.
All other reasonable duties that maybe required from time to time.
Cover other sites as required
To adhere to all four licencing objectives for the sale of alcohol



Supervisor responsibilities  

Comply with and implement the Council’s Equality and Health & Safety policies and associated responsibilities.

When leading shift (only)
Budget (Income / Expenditure) management including 
Reporting of income and expenditure 
Purchase order management
