Do you inspire confidence in young people through innovative IT education?

Can you lead with compassion, courtesy and unwavering commitment while shaping a future‑ready curriculum?

If so, Thomas Deacon Academy is looking for you!

Your role:

As Subject Leader for IT, you will be the engine powering a dynamic, high‑challenge and high‑support digital learning experience from KS3 to KS5. You will lead a committed team, ensuring high‑quality teaching, creative curriculum design, and exceptional outcomes for all learners. You will work closely with the Head of Department, deputising when required, contributing to quality assurance, driving Raising Achievement strategies, mentoring colleagues, and embedding inclusive, future‑focused practice.

This role is ideal for a forward‑thinking IT specialist with strong pedagogical knowledge, experience teaching across key stages, and the confidence to innovate. You will bring strong curriculum expertise, the ability to analyse data insightfully, and the leadership presence to develop a cohesive and motivated team. You will model the TDA and TDET values daily placing character development at the heart of your approach.

You’ll thrive here if you have a passion for using technology creatively in the classroom, a talent for designing ambitious schemes of learning, and the strategic mindset needed to shape an outstanding IT provision for over 2,000 students.

We would welcome visits to the Academy, please contact Nicky Roger (NRO@tdaeducation), Head of Maths and IT department to arrange a convenient date/time.

About us:
