Summary

Learning Support Assistant – Part-time, long-term temporary and ongoing starting ASAP

Duties as Learning Support Assistant:

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with varying learning needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help prepare resources and assist with classroom routines.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to pupil wellbeing.

Ideal Learning Support Assistant:

  • Experience supporting pupils in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Patient, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with pupils.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Reliable, positive, and enthusiastic about supporting learning.
