Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and highly organized Education Programme Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and educational initiatives. You will be responsible for overseeing our programs, managing staff and volunteers, ensuring strict adherence to UK safeguarding laws, and building strong relationships with schools, communities, and local authorities.

Key Responsibilities
Programme & Operations Management

Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of our educational programs for children.

Ensure all programs are running smoothly, meeting their targets, and making a measurable impact.

Manage the charity’s day-to-day operations and administrative processes.

Team Leadership & Volunteer Management

Recruit, train, and manage a dedicated team of staff, tutors, and volunteers.

Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing support to team members.
Ensure all staff and volunteers have up-to-date Enhanced DBS checks before interacting with children.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the UK education system and statutory guidance (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education).

Stakeholder Management & Fundraising Support

Build and maintain strong partnerships with local schools, teachers, parents, and community groups.

Work closely with the fundraising team/Board of Trustees to report on program success and assist with grant applications or donor reports.

Manage the program budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently.

Person Specification (Skills & Experience)
Essential:

Proven management experience within the charity, education, or youth-work sector in the UK.

Deep understanding of UK safeguarding practices and child protection laws.

Strong leadership skills with experience managing staff and/or volunteers.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, educators, and stakeholders.

Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for children's education and social mobility.

Desirable:

A recognized qualification in education, charity management, or a related field

Additional Requirements
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate prior to starting the role.
