The Best Connection - Scunthorpe Branch is recruiting for an experienced Class 1 Steel Driver, working based on British Steel. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV driver with steel experience, with the chance to secure a permanent role after 17 weeks.

Pay Rates

• £15.76 per hour - Basic Rate
• £25.00 per night out
• 1 to 2 nights out per week preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Transporting various steel products, including long and extended loads
• Securing loads using chains, load binders, straps, and ratchet straps
• Completing thorough vehicle and load checks before departure
• Following all health & safety procedures, including steelworks regulations
• Delivering goods safely, professionally, and on time

✅ Requirements

• 1+ year experience handling steel products
• 2+ years Class 1 (C+E) HGV driving experience
• Confident with chains, binders, and straps
• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence, CPC, and Digi Tacho
• Strong understanding of load security & weight distribution
• Good communication and time-management skills
