Summary
Mercia Garden Products Ltd are seeking proactive, reliable and dedicated Factory Operatives to join our team.
As one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and retailers of sheds, summerhouses, and outdoor garden buildings, we have been shaping British gardens since 1878.
We are currently looking for Factory Operatives to join our growing team across several departments, including Assembly, Milling, and Kitshop.
These are hands-on, varied roles within a busy timber manufacturing environment. Depending on the department, you will be involved in tasks such as assembling products, preparing materials, operating machinery, and ensuring orders are completed accurately and on time.
It’s a great opportunity to develop both practical and technical skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Handle and prepare timber materials safely and efficiently
Use measuring tools to ensure products meet quality specifications
Operate and assist with machinery (training provided where required)
Work to daily production targets and deadlines
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
Follow all health and safety procedures
Work collaboratively with team members across departments
Requirements
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Good manual dexterity and physical capability
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and manage workload efficiently
Willingness to learn new skills and processes
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Hours - Monday - Friday 6:00am - 16:00pm (45.5 hours per week)
Location - Sutton-on-Trent - own transport required.
Salary - £12.21 per hour plus attendance/performance bonus scheme (Rising once fully experienced within the role)
Temp - Perm
