Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of manager at Swanmore Pre-School.
The Pre – School operates from a modern, purpose built setting adjacent to the local primary school. It enjoys an excellent reputation for quality care and education, a good recent OFSTED rating, a healthy waiting list and is financially secure.
The post is for a term – time only contract, (38 weeks), 35-37 hours per week. Salary to be agreed.
The successful candidate will report to the Chair and the committee of the charitable trust that is responsible for the overall management and governance of the Pre – School.
Ideally, they will have:
Professional experience with children aged 2 and above and be capable of leading the provision of a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children at all times.
Level 3 or above in childcare, with experience working in the sector.
A sound knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety legislation, budgeting and good management and people skills.
Competence in the use of IT.
The ability to work alongside the committee.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To be responsible for the government funding system.
To monitor the Tapestry system of observations and record keeping so that children’s progress are effectively and regularly assessed.
To organise and implement the Keyperson system.
To be responsible for monitoring the quality of childcare and teaching.
To ensure an effective supervision and appraisal systems are in place.
To actively promote the Preschool in the local community.
To assist the committee with fundraising activities.
To ensure all records are properly maintained, accessed and stored in a manner compliant with GDP regulations.
To communicate and liaise closely and appropriately with parents/carers.
Ensure confidentiality and discretion are maintained at all times.
To be the lead person for child protection in the pre-school and to ensure that any child protection concerns are acted upon immediately and appropriately.
To ensure that the Pre-School is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are fit for purpose and compliant with the legislative requirements.
To ensure that your personal and professional development is continually reviewed and managed.
To be a key holder for the pre-school building, ensuring the building is accessible to all staff at the beginning of every session.
