Summary
Team Leader – Maternity Cover (Fixed Term)
32 hours a week with the possibility of over time. 1 weekend in 3.
About the Role
We’re looking for an engaging, motivated Team Leader to support the daily running of Ivybridge Leisure Centre. You’ll help ensure smooth operations on shift, manage a team of staff and deliver great customer service across all areas of the centre. This is a great development role for anyone wanting to progress in the leisure industry. NPLQ qualification is desired but all training will be given.
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer service
Confident communication and people skills
A positive, can‑do attitude
Ability to pass the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (training provided)
Main Duties:
Act as Duty Manager when required
Ensure a welcoming front‑of‑house experience
Open/close the centre and oversee daily operations
Coordinate and support staff on shift
Assist with fitness instruction, reception, pool supervision and membership enquiries
Handle cashing‑up and banking tasks
Support the delivery of activity programmes and events
Help with staff training, briefings and development
Maintain excellent customer relationships
Development & Support:
Free training for required qualifications*
Regular meetings with other Team Leaders
Ongoing mentorship and management development
*A Learner Agreement may be required; applicants must be 18+
