Summary

Volunteer Coordinator – South West

We’re hiring for a Volunteer Coordinator to support and grow our volunteer programme across the South West.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training and retention, working closely with colleagues, community organisations and corporate partners to maximise the impact of volunteering across Brandon Trust.

This is a part‑time position, working 24 hours per week, with hybrid working across Brandon Trust sites, from home and other agreed locations.

What you’ll be doing:

Coordinating targeted recruitment campaigns to attract diverse volunteers
Matching volunteers to roles that align with their skills and interests
Delivering structured onboarding and induction processes
Monitoring and reporting on volunteer engagement and mandatory training compliance
Managing the full volunteer lifecycle, including recognition and off‑boarding
Acting as a key point of contact for volunteers and corporate partners
Organising volunteer thank‑you events, engagement activities and regular communications
Building relationships with community organisations and businesses to attract new volunteers
Maintaining accurate volunteer records and ensuring GDPR compliance
Supporting impact reporting, including volunteer hours, financial value and social impact
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, retail and enterprise teams
What we’re looking for:

Proven ability to manage or support a volunteer programme with measurable outcomes
Strong organisational and communication skills
Confidence building relationships with volunteers and stakeholders
Confident use of social media to advertise opportunities, increase engagement, and support outreach
Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently
Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and Teams

Essential requirements:

Ability to work independently and travel across the South West
A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
Willingness to undertake a basic DBS check
Experience recruiting, supporting and engaging volunteers


Desirable:

Experience in safeguarding and event planning
Familiarity with CRM systems, volunteer management systems or marketing platforms
Hours and salary:

24 hours per week
£28,000 per annum (pro rata)
