Pay rates
• Ages 18–20: £12.40 – £12.70 (conditions apply)
• Ages 21+: £13.10 – £13.40 (conditions apply)

Requirements
• Full UK driving licence essential

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

1. To empower and enable the people we support to make choices that promote their independence.
2. To promote independence, choice and engagement, to every part of a residents life
3. To work in partnership with the residents ensuring a quality of life that is meaningful, fulfilling and fun
4. Work in a manner that respects dignity, rights, values, beliefs and abilities

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support residents who need help with personal care.
2. Support residents with the choice of suitable clothes and with laundry.
3. Promote engagement in person-centred mental and physical activity, tasks, and work.
4. Encourage and promote community engagement.
5. Support residents to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
6. Support and guide residents where necessary in making and changing beds and towels in accordance with the rota.
7. Report any illness, unusual behaviour or other problem impacting on resident’s wellbeing.
8. Record health, activity, behaviour, and family contact in residents’ digital daily communication books.
9. Fully participate in staff and resident's meetings and in training activities as required and up-date knowledge on agreed working practices.
10. Undertake a Keyworker responsibilities with for a resident, advocating for promoting their quality of life, maintain contact with family and friends and set and review goals. Contribute to residents care plans
11. Supporting residents to prepare meals, maintain a healthy balanced diet and stay hydrated.
12. Report to the Team Leader any incidents, accidents, behaviours of concern, safeguarding, family contact or visitors to the home.
13. Understand your responsibility within the Health & Safety Policy report to the management any hazard or risk.
14. Follow to company’s policies and procedures and agreed ways of working.
15. Undertake other duties pertaining to the smooth-running of the Home that may, from time to time, be requested.
16. Responsible to ensuring all residents are safeguarded and protected from abuse.
17. To have a good understanding of PBS, (Positive Behaviour support), and ensure your day-to-day practice is in line with PBS standards.
18. Promote Infection Prevention Control procedures at all times.
