Summary

SEN Teacher

Are you a passionate teacher who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed?

Do you want to work in a school where relationships, inclusion, and individual progress are at the heart of everything?

Are you ready to develop your career in a specialist setting where your teaching can truly change lives?

A forward-thinking specialist school in West London is seeking an exceptional SEN Teacher to join its dedicated team from September. This is a full-time, permanent role within a highly respected 11–19 specialist provision supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and communication difficulties.

This vibrant and inclusive learning community is designed specifically for young people who thrive in structured, nurturing environments with highly personalised support. The school’s mission is simple: to help every student develop confidence, independence, and the skills needed to succeed beyond school.

What Makes This School Special

Teaching in this specialist setting is purpose-driven, creative, and deeply rewarding. Class sizes are small, support staff are highly skilled, and teachers are empowered to design lessons that genuinely meet the needs of their learners.

The school offers:

• Inner London Main Teacher Pay Scale starting at £40,317
• Full-time, permanent teaching role starting September
• Teaching within small classes supported by experienced teaching assistants
• A purpose-built environment designed for students with ASD and communication needs
• Outstanding pastoral and therapeutic support integrated into the school day
• Extensive professional development in SEND teaching and specialist strategies
• A collaborative leadership team committed to staff wellbeing and career progression

The school places a strong emphasis on communication development, emotional regulation, and life skills, alongside a meaningful academic curriculum that enables students to achieve recognised qualifications and prepare for adulthood.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, personalised lessons that support both the academic progress and personal development of students.

You will work closely with specialist teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to create a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from teachers who are passionate about inclusive education and who demonstrate:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• A genuine interest in SEND education, particularly ASD and SEMH
• Excellent relationship-building skills and a nurturing approach to teaching
• Creativity and adaptability when planning lessons for diverse learning needs
• A commitment to helping students develop confidence, independence, and life skills

Previous SEND experience is beneficial but not essential — the school is equally keen to support teachers who are enthusiastic about moving into specialist education.

Why This Role is So Rewarding

Teaching in a specialist environment like this offers something truly unique: the opportunity to witness life-changing progress every single day. Staff consistently describe the school as a place where students feel understood, valued, and empowered to achieve in ways they never thought possible.

If you are looking for a role where your teaching has genuine impact, strong professional support, and a real sense of purpose, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
