Summary

Our Patient Safety Manager will manage multiple patient safety incident investigations simultaneously. They will plan and prioritise a range of investigatory activities, deploying relevant tools and frameworks appropriate to the subject and delivering reports within agreed timescales. The workload will vary as the investigations progress, requiring plans to be modified in response to changing information and timescales. Promote the continuing development of proactive and engaged patient experience, staff engagement with patient safety and improvement processes and model a just and learning culture throughout their interactions within and outside of the Trust. Analyse highly complex information, interpret findings to produce recommendations and actions to be shared, which identify direction for reviews, learning opportunities and support systemic change. Work with the Head of Patient Safety and the wider patient safety team in the continuing development of the PSIRF within the Trust and in the full implementation of the patient safety strategy. Maintain the Trust's LMRS (DCIQ) and use it to enhance the Trust's ability to identify key themes and trends both from issues arising and potential future areas for review. Keep up to date with local and national patient safety guidance. Develop and update Trust patient safety policies where appropriate. Hold responsibility for ensuring that DCIQ is being used to its full potential. Line manage members of the patient safety team.
