As a Science Technician, your primary goal is to support teaching and learning within the Science department. You will ensure that staff and students have the resources and technical support they need to succeed in a safe, efficient laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Support: Prepare equipment and chemicals for lessons, run trials of experiments, and provide technical demonstrations for staff and students.
Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and clean laboratory apparatus and equipment.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed strictly, including the appropriate storage of chemicals.
Resource Management: Maintain a bank of resources and assist with record-keeping for the department.
Student Engagement: Provide technical advice to students and support them with research projects.
