Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Fitter/Mechanic to join our dedicated maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of 10 7.5 tonne vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
• Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify mechanical issues.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Assist in the diagnosis of complex mechanical faults using specialised tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules.
• Keep the workshop clean and organised, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
• Proven experience as an HGV Fitter or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electronic diagnostics.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Valid UK driving licence; Class 1 or 2 licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
