Summary
We are looking to establish a dedicated in-house landfill gas operations team to manage and optimise gas assets across multiple landfill sites in England and Wales. This role combines field-based gas well balancing with remote engine performance monitoring using ComAp systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining gas control stability, supporting engine uptime and contributing to emissions reduction and operational optimisation. Full structured training in landfill gas systems will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out gas well balancing and vacuum optimisation across active landfill cells.
• Monitor and interpret engine data via ComAp systems, including load, alarms and performance trends.
• Investigate gas supply instability and support corrective action.
• Work alongside maintenance teams to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Assist in identifying fugitive emissions and responding to odour-related events.
• Produce weekly and monthly gas performance reports.
• Travel between sites and work independently where required.
Essential Requirements
• Mechanical or electrical background (industrial, utilities, waste or similar).
• Experience working with engines or industrial plant.
• Confident analysing data using Excel or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
• Comfortable working independently across multiple sites.
