Summary
We create memorable experiences across our places, from historic houses to beautiful landscapes. Our Weddings and Events operations play a key part in this, helping people celebrate some of life’s most important moments.
We’re looking for bar supervisors to support the smooth delivery of our weddings and events. In this role, you’ll help lead the bar team to provide exceptional service to clients and their guests, ensuring every visit feels special. By supervising the preparation and service of drinks, maintaining high presentation standards, and supporting the wider operations team.
This location is in a rural area, so please think about how you’d get here for work, before applying for the job.
Hours/ working pattern: This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts. Flexible, but mainly Fridays & Saturdays up to 12 hour shifts.
Salary: £12.75 per hour - we’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2026.
Contract duration: Fixed term until 31st December 2026
Due to the requirements of the role, we require you to be 16 or above for this position.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
Benefits: We want to help you look after the things that matter to you, such as saving for your future, getting a discount on your weekly shop, or encouraging you to find a work-life balance. Please read our package, below, to see what benefits we offer you.
As Bar Supervisor, you’ll assist in the day‑to‑day running of our wedding and event bar operations, helping to create a friendly, professional and welcoming atmosphere for all guests. You’ll lead shifts, supervising bar staff to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service, and will take responsibility for opening and closing the bar and venue during events.
You’ll oversee bar preparation and service, including cellar management duties, restocking, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and ensuring the bar area is always clean, well presented and compliant with alcohol licensing and food hygiene requirements. You’ll also provide clear direction and support to the team, helping with induction, training and maintaining a positive working environment.
Working closely with colleagues and suppliers, you’ll help ensure every event runs smoothly; whether liaising with caterers, supporting room turnaround, or resolving day‑to‑day guest issues with confidence and professionalism. With your product knowledge, attention to detail and proactive approach, you’ll make thoughtful recommendations that enhance the guest experience and help maximise sales that support our conservation work.
We’ll provide you with a thorough induction, including training in alcohol licensing, food hygiene, and health and safety. You’ll have opportunities to build your leadership and bar knowledge, all while being part of a supportive, purpose led team.
