Summary
Nuthall Parish Council is seeking a reliable and practical Premises Caretaker to support the management and maintenance of its properties, including the Temple Centre, Horsendale Community Room, Basil Russell Park and Pavilion, and New Farm Lane Cemetery.
You will open and close premises, carry out light maintenance and repairs, ensure buildings are safe and secure, and provide a professional welcome to hirers and visitors. The post includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota, with some evening and weekend working required. Regular travel between Council sites is expected, so access to reliable transport is essential.
You will have experience in building maintenance, caretaking or a similar practical role, along with good communication skills and the ability to work independently. A basic understanding of health and safety principles is required. A full UK driving licence or reliable means of travel within the Council area is essential.
We offer a permanent contract (subject to a six-month probationary period), employer contributory pension scheme, and annual leave entitlement, all calculated on a pro-rata basis for 12 hours per week.
