Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and reliable teaching assistant to join the Inclusion and Learning department at Whitmore High School, Barry.
The school is seeking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant who is able to work independently with small groups and individual pupils, in both wellbeing and learning interventions.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be committed to working within a dedicated team that offers the highest possible standards of teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for those looking to develop their knowledge of supporting students with a range of different learning needs.
The position will include training opportunities for professional development in areas of interest, and also for candidates who are willing to commit to achieving a level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching if this is not already held.
The school also welcomes applications from teaching assistants with a primary school background as these skills are very transferable when working with pupils in an additional need setting at secondary level.
The ability to build relationships with both pupils and staff is essential as well as having a good sense of humour and a flexible, trauma informed approach to pupils.
