Summary
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
• To oversee all services of Assist Teignbridge;
• To ensure all requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Charity Commission, HMRC, and the Pensions Regulator are met, and that adequate insurance cover is maintained;
• To ensure the Management Board (trustees) are kept appropriately informed of matters affecting existing services;
• To promote the services of the organisation in such a way that it maintains a positive profile, and its good name, within its service area;
• To liaise with the statutory services, other professionals and with voluntary organisations, and maintain a network of organisations relevant to our services within the locality;
• To provide locality representation by attending relevant meetings and county level events and meetings when applicable;
• To recruit, induct, train and line-manage office staff to maintain and develop the services, and care staff to deliver the services of Assist Caring, Assist Home Help and Assist Nail Trimming Services, and ensure that all staff are assessed regularly;
• To organise and facilitate relevant staff training; To conduct home assessments for Assist Caring & Assist Home Help service users and finalise care plans and risk assessments;
• To ensure effective management of care packages, from referral through to assessment, timely reviews and quality assurance monitoring;
• To record staff/client concerns and respond appropriately;
• To ensure the safeguarding of all clients through adherence to relevant legislative procedures and codes of practice;
• To understand responsibilities in relation to providing care and support, adhering to confidentiality, health and safety, food hygiene, fire precautions and emergency procedures, infection control, safeguarding and all other Charity policies;
• To provide out of hours emergency assistance when required, and
• To complete funding and grant applications for the free services of Assist Volunteer Centre, and produce end of grant reports.
This list is not exhaustive but is an indication of the range of tasks to be undertaken. You may be required to perform other duties that are consistent with the role and appropriate to the proper running of the organisation.
There are 4 weeks’ annual leave (increasing to 5 weeks after 5 years’ service) in addition to all statutory and bank holidays, occupational sick pay provision, and a contributory pension scheme (NEST) into which you would be enrolled but you may later opt out of if you so wish.

The role requires you to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) as the Registered Manager of the charity.
