Role Overview
Green Home Plans is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented AAT Level
2 Accounts Apprentice to join our finance team. This role is ideal for
someone starting their career in accounting and finance, offering hands-on
experience while studying towards the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
The apprentice will support day-to-day finance operations while developing
core accounting knowledge and practical skills in a supportive,
environmentally focused business.

Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, the apprentice will learn and assist with:
? Processing payments and receipts
o Recording customer and supplier payments accurately
o Allocating receipts to the correct accounts
o Supporting bank reconciliations
? Double-entry bookkeeping basics
o Posting transactions to the ledger
o Understanding debits and credits
o Maintaining accurate financial records
? Invoices and credit notes
o Raising sales invoices
o Processing purchase invoices
o Creating and posting credit notes where required
? Introduction to cost accounting
o Assisting with tracking costs related to projects and operations
o Supporting basic cost allocation and analysis
? Variance analysis (introductory level)
o Comparing actual costs against budgets
o Helping identify and report simple variances
o Supporting finance reports for management review
? General finance administration and ad hoc tasks as required
Training and Development
? Enrolment on the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting
? Off-the-job training as required by the apprenticeship standard
? Ongoing support and mentoring from experienced finance professionals
? Opportunities to progress to AAT Level 3 upon successful completion
