Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
In addition to the role of teacher (outlined in the job description), this position will involve:
• Leading and managing key stage 3 science
• Monitoring, evaluation and review of KS3 curriculum including QA of schemes of work and curriculum health checks
• Management of KS3 assessment and exams, mark schemes and criteria supported by use of attainment descriptors to include maintaining spreadsheets
• Monitoring KS3 reports and data
• Scrutiny of data and contribution to the department self-evaluation
• Monitoring of KS3 progress towards improvement targets
• Moderation of assessments and use of the attainment descriptors
• Creating effective enrichment opportunities for KS3 students
• Line management of support staff in department
• Commitment to set meetings with the subject leader across the school year
• Supporting the subject leader with management of KS4 aspects as required
