The Opportunity
Associate Assistant Headteacher - Sixth Form
Leadership scale L07 – L11
Start date: 1 September 2026
The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic oversight and leadership of all elements of the post-16 provision – including the quality of education, pastoral support, behaviour and attitudes and, ultimately, outcomes at sixth form.
This post offers an excellent development opportunity for an ambitious and aspirational middle leader looking to move to senior leadership.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
• All matters relating to recruitment of students in the Sixth Form including prospectus, information evenings and individual interviews
• Creating an atmosphere and support systems to enable students to achieve their very best
• The QA of the sixth form, including the curriculum, teaching and learning, behaviour and attitudes
• Ensuring the sixth form is an integral and integrated part of the school
• Co-ordinate the UCAS process and Oxbridge applications ensuring the preparation of students for any university admissions tests and interviews
• Strategic oversight of the whole school careers programme.

You will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record of providing effective educational leadership, aspiring to the highest expectations and standards in all areas of school life.
You will be somebody who places young people at the heart of every decision, an excellent communicator and team player with a ‘can do attitude’, willing to engage in the whole of the school’s life.
