So…. What is this role exactly?
Due to growth, we now have an opportunity for a Maintenance Operative (1 x Manchester) to join Your Housing Groups Repairs and Maintenance Division and provide a high quality repairs service to our customers throughout the Northwest region.
Maintenance Operatives, here at YHG are an integral part of our Repairs & Maintenance team and have a varied role, responsible for the completion of basic repairs and maintenance to Your Housing Group properties.

What will my working week look like?
You will live within your regional area of work and will ideally also be within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses when needed.Although we try to base our operatives closest to their home location it may still be required for you to travel to other locations due to business requirements on occasion.
What will I be responsible for doing?
In this role you will carry out general repairs and maintenance duties, which may include, but will not be limited to, painting, decorating, mould wash & treatments, patch plastering, minor tiling work, Clearance work and assisting other skilled trade operatives with small plumbing or joinery work, and general maintenance.
You will be confident and capable, ensuring all work undertaken is completed with due regard for quality, productivity, and safety.

To be a successful as a Maintenance Operative here at YHG, ideally…
- You will have a full UK Driving License (ideally no more than 6 points)
- You will be experienced in patching, painting, internal and external maintenance works and minor repairs as well as mould treatment
- You will have experience working within the social housing industry
- You will have basic health and safety knowledge in a repair’s environment
