Are you a resilient, empathetic, and creative educator looking to make a genuine difference? Highfields College, a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Stockport, is seeking a Classroom Teacher who thrives in a non-traditional setting.
You will be working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4 who have a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This isn’t just about delivering a curriculum; it’s about building trust, sparking curiosity, and providing a stable foundation for students who may have faced significant barriers to learning.

What We’re Looking For
Subject Expertise: A specialism or substantial competence in teaching English and/or Maths is highly desirable. Where you do not have this specialism, the ability to teach these subjects from our planning remains essential.
Versatility: The ability to teach PSHE is a significant plus, as we focus heavily on the holistic development and life skills of our learners.
Resilience: You should be a calm, patient presence with a "firm but fair" approach and a deep understanding of trauma-informed practice.
Adaptability: The ability to differentiate lessons on the fly to meet the unique needs of every student in the room.
Why Highfields College?
At Highfields, we believe in fresh starts. You’ll join a supportive team that prioritizes staff well-being and professional development. We offer a smaller-than-average class size, allowing you to focus on the individual progress of each student.
How to Apply
If you are enthusiastic about inclusive education and want to help our students find their path back to success, we want to hear from you.
