Summary

School Caretaker required ASAP Temp - Perm for the right person

    Monday – Friday: 6:15am – 9:15am


    Monday – Thursday: 2:45pm – 6:15pm


    Friday: 2:45pm – 5:45pm


    Contract: 52 Weeks per Year

    About the Role

    We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on School Caretaker to join our team. This is an important role within the school, ensuring the site is safe, clean, and operating efficiently for pupils, staff, and visitors.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and security of the school premises. You will be practical, organised, and able to respond quickly to issues around the site.

    Key Responsibilities

      Opening and closing the school site in line with shift times


      Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs around the school


      Maintaining a clean, safe, and tidy environment across the premises


      Supporting cleaning duties where required


      Monitoring the condition of the building, grounds, and facilities


      Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained at all times


      Assisting with deliveries, room setups, and general site support


      Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring they are resolved promptly


      About You

        Experience working in a similar caretaker, site assistant, or maintenance role


        Practical and hands-on with experience carrying out minor repairs and manual tasks


        Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance procedures


        Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently


        Comfortable working split shifts


        Good awareness of health and safety within a workplace


        Safeguarding Requirement
        This role is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Applicants must either hold a valid DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.
