*Competitive rates of pay starting from £90*

Your new company

You will be working for Hays as bank staff where you will be placed in various settings, ideally within KS1 across primary schools. You will be working with children 4 to 16 years old, which can be tailored to your preferences. You will be working in schools in Eastbourne and Hailsham, able to work around your own commitments. When the schools are open, we will help support you with as much or as little work as you need.

Your new role

As a teaching assistant, you will be expected to support settings, working where required; supporting the pupils with their learning, helping set up and tidy the rooms, working with the children and ensuring the environment is safe at all times. You won't be expected to complete any learning diaries, so this is a great opportunity to gain confidence and learn new skills. The role as a temporary teaching assistant means you have complete flexibility over the days you would like to work week by week.

What you'll need to succeed

We are ideally looking for Level 2 or Level 3 qualified teaching assistants. However, we are open to unqualified candidates that have recent relevant experience that can be referenced. You will need to be reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic; the schools that you are placed in will expect you to be hands-on and willing to help out in the setting. Roles can include a variety of working in a classroom with children alongside working one-to-one with a specific pupil supporting their development. If you have any experience working with SEN children, this is advantageous.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive daily rate including holiday pay. You will receive the support you require to settle into the school routine. You will have set hours for a fixed period of time, enabling you to plan your commitments or childcare where needed. This is a fantastic opportunity to work around your own schedule in your desired location while gaining experience and confidence in working with children. Working with Hays, you have access to our learning platform with over 200+ free courses available to support you in your professional development. Flexible working options available.
