The Best Connection is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a 3.5T Driver (B Licence) to join a well-established home furnishing distribution business in Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver looking for ongoing work delivering home furnishings to customers, working alongside a driver's mate and providing excellent customer service.
About the Role
As a 3.5T Driver, you will be responsible for delivering home furnishings to residential customers. This is a multidrop role, where you will work with a driver's mate to ensure items are delivered safely and efficiently. The role involves manual handling and heavy lifting, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Your Duties Will Include
- Carrying out pre- and post-vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy
- Completing multidrop deliveries to customers' homes
- Working closely with a driver's mate to unload and deliver furniture items
- Providing excellent customer service during deliveries
- Following delivery schedules and job instructions accurately
- Maintaining clear communication with dispatch and the client
- Adhering to all health and safety policies and procedures
What We're Looking For
- Valid UK Category B (3.5T) driving licence
- Previous van / Class B driving experience
- Maximum 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Ability to carry out heavy lifting and manual handling
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- Reliable, professional, and punctual with good communication skills
- Verifiable references
