Summary

Our client, a leading education provider in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-time SEMH Intervention Support Assistant to join their team. This role will involve providing specialised support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to thrive in their educational journey.

As the Part-time SEMH Intervention Support Assistant, you will be responsible for delivering targeted interventions and strategies to students, both on a one-to-one and small group basis. Your role will be to work closely with the school's SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized support plans that address the unique needs of each student. This may involve a range of activities, such as emotional regulation workshops, social skills training, and resilience-building exercises.

In this position, you will be required to have a deep understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for the students in your care. Your strong communication skills and empathetic approach will be essential in building trusting relationships with the students, their families, and the wider school community.

The successful candidate will possess relevant qualifications and experience in the field of special educational needs, with a particular focus on SEMH. This could include a Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning, or a degree in a related field such as Psychology, Counselling, or Education. Additionally, you should have a proven track record of successfully supporting students with SEMH needs, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and professionals
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed student records
