Chef – Lead with Passion, Cook with Purpose
Location: Strathallan School, Forgandenny, Perth PH2 9EG
Salary: £13.78 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Working Pattern: 5 days over 7

What You’ll Do
- Lead food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Oversee food replenishment and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment
- Support, mentor, and train kitchen staff to build a positive and motivated team
- Manage catering operations including labour, food, and stock control
- Maintain consistent food quality and service for students, staff, and visitors
- Contribute to menu planning and development to keep dishes fresh and exciting
- Carry out regular checks and audits to ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
What You Bring
- Experience cooking in a large-scale catering environment (100–1300 students)
- Ability to follow recipes and deliver consistent results in a professional kitchen
- Previous team supervision or line management experience
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce and ingredient preparation
- Solid understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations
- Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced kitchen
- Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for food
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
- At least 1 year of hands-on cooking experience
- Training in Food Hygiene and Health & Safety will be provided
