Summary


As a member of the MDT with the Emergency Department the post holder will act on their own initiative to deliver patient care at with the supervision of a registered nurse available. They will demonstrate a level of skill and knowledge which enables them to undertake specific patient orientated tasks whilst working within all areas of the department in accordance with the Trusts procedures, guidelines and policies.

The post holder is required to be competent in delivering minor injury and illness care to patients within the urgent treatment center and also be able to undertake a range of procedures and practices which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

Working within all areas of the emergency department. The post holder is expected to be competent in minor injury procedures, such as wound care and plastering. Competent in performing venepuncture, cannulation and ECG's and will be responsible in accurately recording patient’s vital signs being able to interpret NEWS scores and escalate appropriately ensuring identification of an acutely unwell patient.
