Co-op Wholesale is growing, and we're looking for people who want to shape what comes next. As a National Account Manager, you'll lead one of our biggest and fastest‑growing strategic accounts within Co-op Wholesale: a high-profile national retailer with significant scale, a complex network of sites, and huge potential for future growth. This is a key commercial role where you'll own the relationship end-to-end, working closely with our trading and propositions teams, category managers, and senior stakeholders to land a compelling proposition that delivers value for both partners.
Why this role matters
We're building something big at Co-op Wholesale. With a refreshed structure and exciting plans ahead, we're creating new opportunities to strengthen our proposition for our independent retailers, key accounts, and a growing corporate customer base. And as a National Account Manager, you'll play a key role in that growth. You'll lead the commercial relationship with one of our highest-value national accounts, ensuring we deliver a best in class offer that drives sales, improves availability, and enhances our partnership performance
This is your chance to bring new ideas to life and make a real impact across Co-op Wholesale. Be part of it.
What you'll do
* Build a strong working relationship with one of our biggest national retailers and be their main point of contact
* Work closely with our trading, delivery, and proposition teams, category managers, finance, supply chain, and other teams across the business to make sure our range, pricing and offer land successfully across all sites
* Analyse weekly and long-term performance data, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
* Help fix availability or supply issues by connecting the right people across both businesses
* Shape proposals, plans and agreements that support mutual long-term growth
* Look for new opportunities to improve how we work together and grow the account further
* Own the account and joint business planning, ensuring activities align with our wider commercial strategy and deliver measurable value
* Make sure account activity is well organised, well communicated, and focused on the right priorities
What you'll bring
We're committed to making our roles as accessible as possible, so we only ask for the minimum criteria. To thrive here, you'll need to bring:
* Significant experience managing large national accounts within FMCG, wholesale, or retail
* A background in sales, national account management, commercial buying, or category/commercial strategy
* Ability to interpret complex performance data, spot trends, and translate insights into clear actions
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence engaging senior partners
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence decisions using commercial insight
* A detail-oriented approach with the ability to solve challenges quickly and collaboratively
* Proven experience driving sales growth and improving account performance
