Summary
We are looking for a professional, experienced and dedicated Deputy Café/Bar Manager to help deliver a first class front of house experience across our College bars and café. These venues serve as relaxed social hubs for students so we are seeking an individual who can nurture that atmosphere while ensuring smooth daily operations.
This is a hands on role supporting the Bar Manager in ensuring smooth daily operations, excellent service standards, and a welcoming, safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The successful candidate will supervise a small team and take ownership of the outlets, bringing creativity and enthusiasm to developing new food and drink offerings that appeal to the College community. They should be friendly, approachable and comfortable working closely with students, staff, fellows and Alumni alike in a unique, historic setting.
What you’ll be doing
• Supporting the day to day running of the College bars and café, ensuring high quality service and presentation.
• Supervising and motivating bar staff, organising rotas, and helping deliver training.
• Assisting with stock control, cellar management, and maintaining equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety, allergen, and hygiene regulations.
• Helping develop an exciting, on trend food and beverage offering.

• Experience supervising a team in a bar, café, or similar catering environment.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• A flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude.
