We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to deliver high-quality mechanical and building services maintenance within a fast-paced, complex operational environment.​

This role is central to ensuring the reliability, safety and efficiency of mechanical systems across the client’s property, supporting a consistently world-class maintenance service for stakeholders.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled engineer who is confident in fault finding, inspections, repairs, installation and planned preventative maintenance (PPM).​

Working as part of an established engineering team, you will provide hands-on mechanical expertise across boilers, pumps and wider mechanical plant, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment in line with relevant codes, diagrams and manufacturer instructions.

Undertake reactive repairs and troubleshooting to diagnose faults and restore systems to full operation.

Observe mechanical systems in operation to identify failures or causes of malfunction, dismantling equipment when required.

Inspect mechanical parts for calibration, dimensional accuracy and compliance with specification.

Test and calibrate equipment using appropriate test tools and precision measuring instruments.

Plan and lay out work assignments, determining suitable methods, techniques and materials.

Escort contractors and support safe working practices across the site.

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements, at all times.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering 1788 (previous editions considered).

Plumbing experience.

Proven experience in mechanical building services maintenance including fault-finding, installation, inspection and testing.

Experience delivering both reactive and PPM maintenance within commercial properties.

Previous exposure to FM or building services environments.

Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and documentation.
